一個性急的農夫，

impatient farmer,

剛剛把秧苗插好，
Just planted
the rice seedlings,

就希望稻子快快長高，
Hope
the rice grow taller fast,

一天到晚田裡跑，
Run to
the field all day long,

|
看看稻子長多少。
To see
how tall the rice grows.

|
三天過去了，
Three
days have passed,
|
|
稻子總是那麼高。
Rice
is always that tall.
|
|
五天過去了，
Five
days have passed,
|
|
稻子還是沒長多少。
Rice still
didn’t grow too much.
|
|
農夫心裡很苦惱。
Farmer
was very upset.
|
|
「哈哈！有個辦法真好。」
"Ha-Ha!
I have a great idea."

|
他把秧苗一棵棵的拔高，
He pulled
the seedlings up one by one,
|
|
回到家裡很自豪：
He
was proud of himself when he return home:
|
|
「幫稻子長高可把我累倒，
"Helping
rice grow taller makes me very tired,
|
|
今天我要睡個飽。」
"Today
I am going to sleep a lot. "

|
太太聽了喊聲糟，
His
wife heard him and shouts ‘Oh! No!’,
|
|
急急忙忙田裡跑。
Hurry
run to the field.
|
|
唉呀！那些可憐的秧苗，
‘Oh! No!’,
Those poor seedlings,
|
|
一半東歪，一半西倒，
Half crooked,
half fell down,
|
|
這可要怎麼辦才好？
What
should we do?
